How To Play Craps
Learning how to play craps can be quite intimidating and i know from experience its a hard game to grasp. There are so many things going on, side bets and pass bets. That it is hard to fully understand first time round. You may have to read this one or two times. Here goes...
Despite the overwhelming sense craps can can be relativly simple. For now forget about all the different types of craps bets available and look at it like this. Someone is chosen to roll the dice. (2 dice) and one of 3 things can happen.
- The shooter can win the game on the first roll, 7 or 11
- They can also lose the game on the first roll 2, 3, or 12
- The shooter can miss both objectives and the game will continue roll after roll until they either win or lose.
The shooter is the only person who has to place his bets upon the table before the first roll. Usually on the passline bet which pays 1:1 or even money.. If the shooter rolls a 7 or 11 on the first roll it is an automatic win. If the shooter rolls a 2, 3, or 12 they lose. And crap out - as its known.
All other numbers (4,5,6,8,9,10) establishes the point. Once the point is established the idea is to roll the point number again before rolling a 7. If a 7 comes up first the shooter loses. If he rolls his point before rolling a 7 he wins.
Craps Bets
Craps payouts and bets are based on the amount of times the number can appear. Meaning 2 and 12 are the hardest to roll, as you would need to roll 1+1 or 6+6. So they have the higest odds. A pass line bet in craps has a low house edge of 1.41% which makes it one of the best bets of any casino game.
